Why Not Start Right? A Complete Real Estate Career Package.
Having a real estate license and a cool website does not make you a pro in real estate any more than a pair of skates and hockey stick makes you a pro hockey player. The real work is not in the performance; it’s in the preparation. Anyone can buy a hockey stick and kick around a puck, but if you want to make a goal, you should know how to perform with it skillfully. A real estate license is like a hockey stick—you need to know how to use it to meet your goals.
As a school, we used to be concerned about the exam pass rate to judge our success, but now we look at the number of top-producing graduates who build their businesses on life, abundance, and relationships. There is no secret formula. No special skills are required—just the willingness to learn and take action. You can learn anything—the key is to take action.
Unlock the Potential: Your Journey to a Georgia Real Estate License
The real estate market in Georgia is brimming with opportunity. If you’re looking to be a part of this vibrant scene, acquiring a real estate license is your golden ticket. Let’s demystify the process and set you on your path to success.
Step 1: Meet the Pre-Licensing Education Requirement
Before you can showcase homes or close deals, you must first immerse yourself in the world of real estate through a comprehensive 75-hour pre-license course. Accredited by the Georgia Real Estate Commission (GREC), this updated course covers the latest real estate practices as well as federal and Georgia laws. Combining video lectures, interactive activities, and a variety of exam formats, this is the most comprehensive course on the market. Based on the industry’s most recognized publication, Modern Real Estate Practice, you will find this comprehensive course not only prepares you for your licensing exam, but also lays a solid foundation for a career in real estate.
Proctored Final Exam: The Georgia Real Estate Commission requires a proctored final exam for your licensing course. You will need to arrange for a proctor, who is someone who will make sure you take the test without outside assistance. Your exam must be proctored by a disinterested third party (a person who is at least 18 years old) with no financial or emotional interest in your passing the exam. Your supervisor, a subordinate, or a family member may not serve as your exam proctor.
Step 2: Conquer the Georgia State Exam with Confidence
With the precision of a seasoned pro, you must navigate the challenging waters of the Georgia Real Estate Exam. Through diligent study and preparation, become fluent in real estate principles and regulation. Equip yourself with reliable study materials and dedicate time to mastering the content—your future as a real estate agent depends on it! Remember, a score of 75% or higher is your gateway to progress.
Step 3: Complete a Background Check
You must obtain a Georgia Crime Information Center (GCIC) report of your criminal history. You can receive this report from any local sheriff’s office or police department. The report may cost up to $25 and is valid for up to 60 days from the date of issue. You must bring this to the PSI testing center prior to receiving a license.
Step 3: The Application Adventure
Upon passing the exam with flying colors, your next adventure is the application process. Georgia takes due diligence seriously, requiring a criminal background check to ensure the integrity of its real estate professionals. With a clean record, you’re ready to tackle the paperwork and submit your application alongside the necessary fee. This step affirms your commitment and capability to hold the prestigious title of a real estate agent.
Step 4: Complete Your Lawful Presence Verification and Take the Georgia Salesperson Licensing Exam
Register and pass the salesperson’s exam with the exam provider, PSI. You must successfully pass the exam and pay the $115 exam fee. More information about the exam can be found on GREC’s website. You are required to take your Lawful Presence Notarized Affidavit and “secure and verifiable document” with you to the exam. To schedule your exam and to receive a copy of the required affidavit, you may visit the PSI website at: https://candidate.psiexams.com/.
Step 4: Patience Pays Off
As your application makes its journey through the gears of Georgia’s administrative system, patience is your companion. Use this time to enrich your industry knowledge further or network with future peers. Your anticipation will soon be rewarded with the arrival of your license. License applications and more information can be found on GREC’s website.
