New York Real Estate Exam Questions
Q: How many questions are on the NY real estate salesperson exam?
A: The state exam has 75 multiple-choice questions.
Q: What score do I need to pass?
A: You need 70%, which means you can miss up to 22 questions and still pass.
Q: Is the state exam the same as the school exam?
A: No. You must pass both: the course final exam given by your school, and the New York State exam. At Manfred, you can retake the school exam as many times as needed during your enrollment period.
Q: How soon should I take the state exam?
A: As soon as possible after you pass your school exam. Students who stay engaged, finish the course in a reasonable amount of time and schedule the state exam right away pass more easily, because the material is still fresh. The longer you wait, the harder it is to remember what you learned. A focused week of review with SMART Exam Prep is usually all you need.
Q: What if I'm nervous about the state exam?
A: That's completely normal, and it's not a reason to wait. The state exam fee is just $15, so there's very little to lose by taking it while the material is fresh. If you don't pass the first time, your results show you exactly what to focus on before you try again.
Q: Can I retake the state exam if I don't pass?
A: Yes. You can retake it, and you pay the exam fee again for each attempt. Use your results to focus your study before you reschedule.
Q: How long are my passing results valid?
A: A passing state exam result is valid for two years, so you have time to find a sponsoring broker and apply.
